Description

Armed Security Supervisor
Plans, directs, and coordinates the security of client assets. They are responsible for properly scheduling and staffing all client engagements and ensuring that all security objectives are met. This includes designing and implementing security policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role operates with minimal supervision and requires reporting to executive management.

Location: Lehigh Valley, PA

Pay rate: $55,000 per year

General Schedule:

Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Must be able to work shift work with a fluctuating schedule as needed.

May require to be on "on call" status

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be a Cardinal Point Ambassador: Be on time. Look sharp in proper uniform. Be engaged. Be consistent every day.
  • Always ensure the proper scheduling and adequate appointment of staffing levels using Celayix scheduling software and direct communication with administrative personnel and field officers.
  • Visit’s officers in the field, plans, examines, analyzes, evaluates, and supervises CPSG security operations, inclusive of physical security assets and security personnel, employees, minimizing the use of overtime, for all positions.
  • Executes Field Inspections for existing employees and site setups for new employees.
  • Reports Key Performance Indicator-related statistics to leadership and senior management on a bi-weekly basis. (Field Inspections, Lateness, Missed Shifts, Overtime, Officer retention and training, Manager Shift Coverage).
  • Ensure the satisfactory, prompt, and efficient staffing of all posts and proactively anticipates needs for upcoming assignments.
  • Ensures all employees have the proper uniforms and equipment prior to being deployed into the field and current employees are properly dressed and equipped for their posts.
  • Stays informed of new employee pipeline to ensure recruitment is targeted at CPHSG priorities.
  • Expected to take active hands-on, developmental roles and make recommendations to the executive management team regarding all facets of armed and unarmed security operations.
  • Prepares reports and records for the executive management team.
  • Evaluates current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing CPHSG activities and functions relative to security programs.
  • Identifies and resolves security-related client problems; develops and implements alternative methods for security operational improvement.
  • Approves Incident Reports daily.
  • Monitors AnswerForce System for client and employee calls. Ensures 100% of all calls are resolved.
  • Directly supervise security personnel.
  • Performs audits of security-related performance and conducts physical surveys of client premises, including security equipment condition.
  • Responsible for overcoming operational obstacles that stand in the way of contract wins.
  • May conduct, supervise and prepare preliminary reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of CPSG regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensures all officers attend mandatory training.
  • Serves as CPSG’s liaison with public law enforcement, fire, and other agencies as it relates to the delivery of security services to clients.
  • Directs and coordinates, through subordinate and/or contract personnel, CPSG activities and security functions, utilizing knowledge of established policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selection, transfers, promotions, and discipline, and dismissals; resolves work grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Human Resources and Administration or other CPSG corporate officers for action.
  • Interprets and disseminates CPSG policies to subordinate personnel and evaluates employee performance; may be required to stand posts or perform other security-related functions.


Basic Qualifications

  • Ten years of specialized technical experience directly related to the duties above, or Five (7) years of Law Enforcement/Military Experience.
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
  • Must possess a valid PA Act 235 Certification.
  • Must possess a valid PA Concealed Carry Permit.
  • Must possess your own firearm.
  • Must be able to pass firearms qualification course.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain all State background & licensing requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field from an accredited college/ university.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in widely diverse environments depending on situational demands
  • Work involves the operation of a personal computer and equipment normally found in an office, and occasionally lifting and moving objects up to 200 pounds.
  • Work also involves frequent reaching, standing, walking, and operating a vehicle. Work is required beyond normal working hours.


The Armed Supervisor may be required to perform any or all of the following essential functions at any time, with or without notice:

  • Lifting heavy objects (i.e., an immobile client or fellow agent, debris, etc.)
  • Running, jumping and/or climbing
  • Reacting quickly
  • Firing a weapon
  • Performing CPR or other life-saving techniques
  • Using impact weapons
